Animal Protection - Current Animal Laws

Some of the webpages containing municipal codes are difficult to navigate. Here are some instructions to help you find the laws pertaining to animals on the Boise, Eagle, Star, Ada County and State of Idaho websites. The City or County Clerk's office also keeps copies of the local laws on hand for you to review.


Boise City Code

Instructions:

  • Once on the webpage, click on "Title 6. Police regulations."
  • Then, click on "6-07. Animals."

Eagle City Code

Instructions:

  • On the left side of the screen, scroll down to "Title 4. Public Health and Safety."
  • On the drop down menu, click on "Chapter 5: Animal Control."

Star City Ordinances

Ada County Code

Instructions:

  • Click on "clerk/auditor/recorder."
  • Click on "county code" (click "county code" again on drop down menu).
  • Click on "Ada County Code."
  • On the left side of the screen scroll down to "Title 5 Health and Safety."
  • On the drop down menu, click on "Chapter 7: Dog Control."
